Nasella tenuissima
Mexican Feather Grass
Three seasons of visual interest! Wispy leaves and flowers sway gently in the breeze and look translucent in the sun. In spring, the grass is a bright green, but as the weather warms up, it begins to turn golden. The silvery flowers are small but abundant. The seed heads they produce in late summer are the feathery structures that give this grass its common name. In autumn, the leaves change to shades of gold and the seeds turn light brown.
