Helleborus foetidus
Bear Claw*
Also known as Stinking Hellebore (it doesn’t!), this tough evergreen’s foliage gives way to charming nodding flowers of greenish white that are cool and refreshing to the eye. This plant is an early harbinger of spring and makes a wonderful cut flower to pair with daffodils and other spring beauties. Like all Hellebores, the flowers are not truly flowers, so their showiness can last for months. Gently self-sows.
